Continuing Medical Education for Healthcare Professionals

Lakeview Hospital CME (Continuing Medical Education)
Each conference begins at 7:30 AM unless otherwise specified.  Conferences are held in Lakeview Hospital's Hulings Education Center.  No registration is required.  Sessions are free of charge.  Lakeview Hospital is accredited by the Minnesota Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. For more information, or if you have any special needs, please call (651) 430-8519.

Pediatric Nursing Care Conference

For nurses and staff interested in topics related to the clinical care of pediatric patients. Presented by Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. Topics include tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy care; pediatric pain management; management of respiratory illnesses (asthma, bronchiolitis, croup); pediatric IV start class with skills stations.

Healing Touch Level 2
Friday and Saturday, May 16 and 17, 2008, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM

For students who have completed Level 1 and wish to increase breadth and depth in the study of healing touch. Includes an intake interview, back techniques and a one-hour healing sequence. Taught by certified healing touch instructor Barb Schommer, RN, MS, CHTP, CHTI.

Reiki Level 2
Tuesday and Wednesday, June 3 and 4, 2008, 8:30 AM-4:00 PM

For students who have completed Level 1. Learn advanced principles and application of Reiki energy healing, including the four levels of healing with emphasis on healing at the spiritual level. Students will learn to use second level Reiki energy for both distance healing and the standard Reiki treatment. Participants must have completed the Reiki Healing Level 1 course. Reiki Level 1
Monday and Tuesday, June 16 and 17, 2008

Learn the history, principles, precepts and practical applications of Reiki energy healing. Following activation of the Reiki energy, participants will learn the hand positions used to perform self, seated and full treatment. Instructor: Debbie Ringdahl, RN, CNM, MS, Reiki Master.

Healing Touch Level 3
Friday and Saturday, September 12 and 13, 2008, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM

For students who desire more in-depth skills in healing touch, and have successfully completed Level 1 and Level 2. Includes development of Higher Sense Perception (HSP), sequencing of healing techniques, working with guidance, self-healing and self-development. Taught by certified healing touch instructor Barb Schommer, RN, MS, CHTP, CHTI.
