Friends of Lakeview

In 2006 the Lakeview Hospital Auxiliary Board decided their name no longer reflected their membership - thus, the birth of Friends of Lakeview Hospital. The new name echoes the mission of the organization, its membership and its mission. In 1957 the Lakeview Hospital Auxiliary was formed by a small group of women, at the request of the hospital board, to raise monies for equipment and provide volunteer support. The Friends now welcomes both men and women of all age groups.

Today its mission and purpose is to enhance the health and wellness of those living in the St. Croix Valley. This mission is accomplished through the support of community wellness programs, healthcare scholarships and services provided by Lakeview Hospital.

Current Friends projects include:

  • Scholarships for students pursuing careers in healthcare fields.
  • Born to Read - providing information to our new parents on the value of reading aloud to young children and the importance of early learning on brain development.
  • Assistance for social services, childbirth education and hospital support groups.
  • Grief support program.
  • Hospital's permanent art collection.
  • Community education that promotes health and wellness.

If you would like to become a member of the Friends of Lakeview Hospital, please contact Deb at (651) 436-1475. Through your annual membership dues of $25, you support the mission of the Friends and its programs.

More than $18,000 was awarded to fifteen students who are pursuing medical careers for the 2007-2008 academic year. The Friends of Lakeview Hospital Scholarships are funded through the generous support of The Andersen Corporate Foundation, the Lakeview Hospital Friends Bridge Marathon, and proceeds from the Fractured Frog Gift Shop located in Lakeview Hospital.

Rivertown Recipes
Friends of Lakeview Hospital have released their new cookbook, Rivertown Recipes, featuring local recipes and original art. Rivertown Recipes consists of 400 recipes from our members, hospital and clinic employees and volunteers. As a bonus, it also has recipes from favorite local restaurants, bakeries and bed & breakfast inns. Featuring original art and photography by local artists and tidbits of local history, this is the perfect Stillwater souvenir or gift. Profits from the sale of Rivertown Recipes will support community wellness programs, healthcare scholarships, and services provided by Lakeview Hospital. You can purchase your copy of Rivertown Recipes for $17 each (or 3 for $45) at the Fractured Frog Gift Shop (located inside Lakeview Hospital). Please call (651) 430-8502 for more information.
