Patient Safety

Patient safety has always been a priority at Lakeview Hospital.  We support and participate in the JCAHO (Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) national safety initiative "Speak Up" campaign and JCAHO's seven national patient safety goals.  Lakeview has been awarded the highest honor by JCAHO, Accreditation with Commendation/Full Compliance.

Patients play an important part in the process of patient safety.  They are encouraged to ask questions, collect information and make informed decisions.  At Lakeview Hospital, we want our patients to have a voice in their healthcare.

In 2002 Lakeview Hospital was selected as one of only two healthcare organizations in the nation to be featured in a JCAHO patient safety video.  This educational tool, which spotlights exemplary safety initiatives, was shared with healthcare organizations across the country.

Lakeview Hospital's patient safety committee continues to work hard developing and implementing proactive safety measures.

If you have any concerns about patient care and safety in the hospital that the hospital has not addressed, please contact Lakeview Hospital's management at 651-430-4648.  If the concerns cannot be resolved through the hospital, you may contact the JCAHO at 1-800-994-6610.
